The idea was to build a ranger using the newly revamped Arcane Archer enhancement tree. What I found was a build that was new player/F2P friendly and the highest damage I could possibly find.

Dex build ranger (Strimtom's Dark Hunter) question about dodge vs weapon finesse. Newbie to DDO here, forgive a possibly stupid question - But I don't understand why Dodge (and later mobility) is preferred over Weapon Finesse. Wouldn't the +4 Dex bonus to melee attack (from Weapon Finesse and 18 Dex) be more helpful than the Dodge bonus?The RL 10 robe/belt/cloak can take you to 29. The combination of each item having something useful (profane 1, ghostly, blurry, qual dex 1) along with the set bonus still being strong makes them more than worth it. Crafted gear, on the other hand, can outstrip the heroic adherent.
